Spaces-Style Classes | 7 weeks
Do you have a room you'd like to rejuvenate
in your home but aren't sure where to start? Fashioned around the
popular tv show "Trading Spaces", this hands-on class provides the
opportunity to renovate one room in your own home with professional
guidance and group energy/support.
Led by professional decorator Holli Appelquist,
all decorating basics will be explored when planning each participant's
room including: space planning and furniture selection, use of architectural
elements, colour, how to use fabric and pattern, window treatments,
flooring, lighting, and how to accessorize. The class starts with
a brief presentation on design basics, then visits each student's
home for initial assessment and planning. Then we "hit the streets"
on field trips to learn what's new and find just what you need to
transform your room! Once the course is completed, you will have
assisted in redesigning 6 different "real life" spaces - one being
your very own. With a class of only 6 students, it's a great opportunity
to meet new friends with similar interests while learning decorating
trends and techniques. Unlike the "real" trading spaces, no actual
physical work is completed, only conceptual planning.
Weeknight:
Tuesday nights
Dates: September 19 - November 1 (final class will be on a Wednesday due to Halloween)
Time: 7-10 pm
Cost: $175 + GST per student -maximum
